The fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has come up with something new for the Tokyo Game Show, leaving PlayStation players amazed.
The Tokyo Game Show, something like a Japanese E3 or Gamescom, is a home game for Final Fantasy XIV. At conventions, visitors are usually shown a fight against Titan, a boss fight, and this time they added a new dimension: streaming the fight, so to speak, to a virtual reality headset. On PlayStation, it was once called “Project Morpheus.” For a few days now, it has been referred to as “PlayStation VR.”
This allowed fans to experience the fight from a different perspective, feeling what it’s like to have a deep fall. Or, as Square Enix says, simply check out some really cute characters.
The hoped-for step into a VR-MMO like Sword Art Online is still far off, but the action certainly generated buzz and curiosity.
