At 8 AM on Monday, our servers for Final Fantasy XIV will go down if everything goes as planned. They will return 25 hours later, at 9 AM on Tuesday, October 28. As mentioned: If everything works as intended.
The maintenance is necessary because with patch 2.4 “Dream of Ice” not only a bunch of new features is coming, but also new building areas in the housing sections will open. According to Square Enix, this requires extended maintenance. It’s about optimizing the database internally, as much more housing will significantly impact performance. Square Enix has added an hour beyond the actual time to prevent issues with the weekly reset.
Final Fantasy XIV is aware that this is quite an extensive maintenance and apologizes for it, requesting patience from players.
