In mid-November 2024, the current expansion Dawntrail of Final Fantasy XIV will enter its next phase. All the details of Patch 7.1 are now revealed on the new overview page from Square Enix.
What is this overview page? When an expansion or new content patch for Final Fantasy XIV is on the way, the developers at Square Enix always expand the official website of the MMORPG with nicely designed theme pages that deal with the upcoming features and improvements.
Recently, you can also find an overview for Patch 7.1 in the Dawntrail section, specifically at finalfantasyxiv.com. The first content pack for the current expansion is called Crossroads and is set to arrive on the live servers in mid-November 2024. We will reveal what’s in the update below.

All New Content of Patch 7.1 of Final Fantasy XIV
What’s coming with Patch 7.1? The focus of the new chapter is, of course, the continuation of the main scenario of Dawntrail. The official description states:
“Golden-hued paradise that was known as the Living Memory has been forged. But not all that glitters is gold, and thus the Warrior of Light has made a choice in a bitter fight for the natural course of life. Peace reigns once again in Tural – yet not all conflicts have been resolved. For now, as two worlds must find a path to each other, long-lost memories begin to surface…”
The other highlight features include:
- Alliance Raid Echoes from Vana’diel (Part 1) – Jeuno: The First Stage: A strange message from Mamook reaches the ears of the Warrior of Light, drawing him once again into the forest of Yak T’el… A whisper from worlds that should never meet, overlapping and bringing forth new, unforeseen dangers.
- Dungeon Research Station Yuweyawata: In the north of the Eternal Heritage, there once was a small peaceful settlement. At a time when the dome had not yet loomed over the heads of its inhabitants, Prince Zoraal Ja is said to have led his landsgarde into battle against a true Tural Vidraal.
- Trial Gok Tajaal – Eternal Queen: Gentle harmonies guide the Warrior of Light into the emotional world of a queen, so pure and dutiful that she forgot her own happiness. Thus she sacrificed herself for the soulless memories of long-past existences and threatened to bring endless despair to the world instead of love – all for the sake of her people, as she believed. What might have happened if her soul harvest had succeeded?
