Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood will be released on June 20, but the developers at Square Enix have already devised a schedule for the four weeks following the release of Stormblood. There will be better loot mechanics and more dungeons.
On June 20, 2017, Stormblood, the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, will be released. The new add-on is packed with cool features such as the city of Kugane and the new classes Samurai and Red Mage. However, the developers know that in MMORPGs, stagnation means death, which is why the first patches with new content will be available soon.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – New content every 2 weeks
The first patch called 4.01 for Stormblood will arrive on July 1 and will bring the instance “The Bends of Time OMEGA.” As with all odd patches from Stormblood, this update will only include one dungeon. The reason for this: There are already enough dungeons and the coveted tomestones can also be farmed elsewhere.
Therefore, they do not want to unnecessarily add dungeons and instead allocate the freed-up capacity to other projects. All even updates will, on the other hand, bring two dungeons and new max levels for items.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood – Second patch brings better loot mechanics
The second patch (4.05) for Stormblood on July 18 will therefore also bring the instance “The Lost Canals of Uznair.” In addition, the previously known dungeon “The Bends of Time” will be available in the new Savage Mode. New Allagan stones will also appear with 4.05.
A new loot mechanic will guarantee you an item that you need for your active job. This ensures that everyone is happy with the loot and that your hard work is rewarded appropriately. All of this information comes from a presentation by lead developer Naoki Yoshida at E3 2017.
