In Final Fantasy XIV there are indications that the Samurai might draw his sword in Stormblood.
One class is already known for the June expansion Stormblood: the Red Mage. We expect more classes (jobs) to come, but we do not know them yet.

As new classes for the MMORPG are recruited from the vast class pool of the Final Fantasy franchise, the speculation is passionate: Fans want their favorite class from the past to come to the game now.
Recently, it was primarily speculated that the Blue Mage would come to Final Fantasy XIV with Stormblood. The other favorite is the “Samurai.”
Fans interpreted a specific hint from FF14 chief Naoki Yoshida in two ways. He was wearing a Spiderman T-shirt when announcing the Red Mage. Yoshida is known for giving hints through such T-shirts:
- 1. Version – that’s Spiderman, who got the power of a spider from a spider bite, this is how the Blue Mage works
- 2. Version – the director of the Spiderman movies was Sam Raimi – if you pronounce that in Japanese, it sounds like Samurai
While there have recently been strong hints about the Blue Mage, data miners have now found this in the code of the latest patch 3.5:

The job abbreviation “Sam” gives a clear hint towards Samurai, they believe.

The Stormblood expansion for Final Fantasy XIV will be released on June 20. It is expected to deliver plenty of gameplay content along with the new jobs. There will be the possibility to swim and dive. Additionally, raids and new zones await the heroes of Eorzea.
What do you think? Blue Mage? Samurai? Are both coming? Let us know in the comments.
