The fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV released patch 3.35 and with it the Palace of the Dead as the first Deep Dungeon. Additionally, it surpassed the 6 million mark in registered accounts.
Square Enix recently announced that the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has reached 6 million registered players. Players of the free trial version are not included. Just in time for this milestone, the latest patch was released.
The Palace of the Dead – enter at level 1 and then play up to level 60
To unlock, we must first complete the quest “Down into the Depths.” We receive it in New Gridania (X:12.0 Y:13.1) from the NPC Nojiro Marujiro. The Palace is entered in the Black Shroud: South Shroud (X:25.2 Y:20.6). You can complete the Deep Dungeon solo or as a group of 4, roles are freely selectable. The same applies to registering as a random group.
The Deep Dungeon lives up to its name, as it features 50 floors to conquer. All characters start at level 1 and acquire experience, equipment, etc. in this area. Additionally, the dungeon is redesigned with every visit, gone are the days of the always same-looking instance. Up to floor 40, the base game A Realm Reborn is sufficient, starting from floor 41, the expansion Heavensward is required. Other features include:
Character Development: You start at level 1 and achieve level 60 during the dungeon. Even those who take advantage of the free trial period can reach level 60, their restriction to 35 does not apply here. Experience is gained by defeating monsters; the experience and recovery bonuses are ineffective. All commands that require completing a job quest will be unlocked immediately upon reaching the corresponding level.
Padjal Equipment: These weapons and armor represent the equipment for the instance. By opening silver treasure chests, they can be enhanced up to +30.
Enchanted Clay Vessels: These contain spells that may be useful during exploration. They are stored in a shared group inventory. Some clay vessels transform you into a monster with different abilities.
Save Data: Every 10 floors, after defeating the respective boss enemy, the progress is saved. This allows you to complete the dungeon later. You just need to enter the inter-floor after this fight. This means you must not log out directly after the boss.
And what rewards can you get for the Palace of the Dead in Final Fantasy XIV?
While exploring, you will encounter more than just monsters. You can find:
Beacons: They are activated by defeating enemies. Once all group members are gathered around an active beacon, they will be teleported to the next floor.
Dead Beacon: This can resurrect all incapacitated group members. Like the beacon, it must be activated by killing monsters.
Traps: Traps are hidden in the dungeon, which you trigger by entering certain areas. Some clay vessels can alert you to this danger in advance.
Floor Effects: Reaching a floor can also trigger certain effects for that floor, such as a status effect or a strengthening of enemies.
Treasure Chests: They are spread across the floors and can also be found during battles against creatures. Golden chests contain clay vessels, silver boxes improve your equipment, and bronze containers contain some items and Gelmorra shards. The latter can be exchanged for special items outside the instance. Some chests, however, are traps and summon an enemy.
Every 10 floors increases the reward. Below level 60, you primarily receive experience and Gil, at 60 you receive some Allagan Stones.
