The latest patch of Final Fantasy XIV 3.2. brings a truckload of game content, including a nasty fight from earlier times.
We have been reporting since Christmas about the next patch of Final Fantasy, which is patch 3.2 “Gears of Change.” In itself, this is a typical “The expansion has been out for half a year and we are continuing with the story” patch. But what would raise a shrug in other MMOs fills an 8-minute trailer in Final Fantasy XIV.

Because in FF14, they really pack a lot into such patches. You not only have the “normal progression” that you would expect, through the main quests, raids, or new dungeons, but they also bring a lot of “side quests” up to date. There are quests with the beast tribes, they introduce new tutorials, and take care of PvP.
Calcabrina still gives FF veterans nightmares today
A special feature that may not be immediately noticeable: The boss fight against “Calcabrina” from Final Fantasy IV seems to be getting a new version in the Anti-Tower. This is a specialty of FFXIV, where they introduce references to the “past.” The Calcabrina fight is feared among gaming veterans because you had to “evenly” defeat the creatures with a certain tactic, otherwise, you were in for a nasty surprise.

Also returning: Hildibrand, the self-proclaimed master detective, brings a unique Asian charm to FF14. He is essentially the Inspector Gadget of Eorzea.
The side quests revolving around Hildibrand have a bit of a morning cartoon feel, but definitely with charm. He is indeed polarizing.
