Today, Square Enix released the latest patch “Before the Fall” for the iconic MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The update with version number 2.5 is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
Before the Fall is the beginning of the finale of the main scenario and lays the foundation for the upcoming expansion Heavensward, which will be released in spring. The first part of the update includes two-thirds of the final main story quests and numerous new contents. Highlights of Before the Fall include three new dungeons: Guardian of the Lake, Palace of the Wanderer (hard), and Ruins of Amdapor (hard); new game modes at the Cyrodiil Front, the Primae Odin, and side quests with the cult detective Hildibrand. The Crystal Tower raid also concludes with “The World of Darkness”. All details about Patch 2.5 and a comprehensive list of all patch notes can be found here.
Next month, Patch 2.51 will be released and will introduce the Chocobo Racing and the Gold Saucer amusement park. The second part, the battle for Ishgard, is expected in March.
