The crossover event between Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World will go live on August 7. Here you can find all the information about what the crossover brings to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
Rathalos is coming on August 7: The development team of Final Fantasy XIV has paid attention to details for the crossover event. They want to bring the fight against Rathalos as close to the original from Monster Hunter: World as possible.
The event will go live together with patch 4.36 and Eureka Pagos. You can watch the full trailer here
New Trial for the Hunters
What are the requirements?
- Level 70
- Completion of the Stormblood main scenario
- Item level of at least 320 for normal mode and 350 for Extreme.
How will the fight work? The fight against Rathalos will be a trial, offering both a normal and an “Extreme” mode.

This is how the FF14 fight will be like in MHW
The special thing about it:
- The extreme mode will only allow a group of 4 players, while the normal mode allows 8
- The Extreme mode will also include automatic resurrection, but limited to three attempts
- There will be no role restrictions, meaning players can enter in any group configuration
- Rathalos will not build aggro and thus will be untankable, as is the case in Monster Hunter: World
- You can only use special potions for healing, as a debuff will be on the battlefield that prevents magical healing
- A player can carry a maximum of 10 potions
It can be compared to the last boss from the Stone Vigil (Hard). Rathalos will alternately beat players, and one will have to pay attention to his movements to evade attacks.
Main thing is loot
What can be won? A lot:
- A full set of armor designed after Rathalos from Monster Hunter: World

- A large Rathalos mount. While riding it, the music from Monster Hunter: World will play:

- Poogie and Palico from Monster Hunter: World as companions:

- Furniture for the garden:

Just like in MHW, players will receive items from the Rathalos fight and must bring them to the smith NPC to receive rewards.
The collaboration event will not be time-limited. Players do not have to worry about missing out. The same goes for Monster Hunter: World.
