The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV entices with a free mount. To receive it, players must do something different in each country. In China, it’s about devouring massive amounts of chicken.
What kind of mount is it? The developers of Final Fantasy XIV are currently offering a free mount in China, a hefty black Chocobo. The mount is very large and features a very overweight Chocobo that is powered by a fishing rod and a Gysahl green.
To get the hefty bird, players in different countries must perform different actions. In Japan, for example, they had to eat chicken fillet. In China, players are faced with a truly epic challenge.

What must the Chinese do for the mount? The collaboration for the mount in China is probably through the fast-food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Because to get the code for the mount, you have to devour a big family meal. It is actually designed for 4 people and includes:
- 1 x Double Chicken Burger
- 1 x Vegan Mushroom Burger
- 1 x 5-piece Chicken Nuggets
- 2 x “Original Recipe Chicken”
- 1 x 2-piece “New Orland Chicken Wings”
- 1 x “Old Beijing Spicy Duck Roll”
- 2 x large Pepsi
- 2 x large Peach Oolong Tea
How can you complete the chicken challenge? The prerequisite is that you must directly order this family package at the KFC store and then you will receive the code for a mount. Therefore, many Chinese fans of Final Fantasy XIV see it as a challenge or even a raid.
They meet at KFC and enthusiastically eat their way through the massive amount of chicken. After all, everyone wants a code, so there can be very large amounts on the table that are then consumed together.
Some are said to have even attempted it “solo.” On Chinese social media, various memes and posts are circulating that report on the tough battle against the family meal.

And even though some rumors say that you must hold the chicken massacre live in the restaurant, there are various Chinese players who have already posted on social media that you do not have to eat everything immediately and on-site.
However, since many Chinese people do not have cars, bringing home this amount of food, especially drinks, is a challenge in itself.
One player reports that he ate part of it in the store and somehow took the rest home. There, he could enjoy the chicken for the entire day and relish his mount.
Will the black Chocobo also come to Germany? By now, players from Japan, the USA, and China have managed to snag the mount through various actions. Thus, the likelihood is high that we will also receive the black Chocobo sooner or later.
When and how exactly this will happen is not yet known. In the last event, players had to collect 24 codes from Dr. Pepper cans to receive the Cumulus cloud and other items. We can be excited about what it will be this time.
