Anyone looking to top up their wallet before the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker or trying to save enough Gil for their own house will find a quick tip here to make money. With the Gourmet crafting, it’s not that complicated to achieve.
What is this about? This guide is aimed at players who own Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers and are looking for a way to earn money quickly. Maybe you returned because of the current great popularity of the game and now want to make some money.
In one afternoon, you can earn between 1.6 and 1.8 million Gil, depending on your luck and the number of your allowances. However, you will need the crafting profession of Gourmet at least level 79. With this, you can create the item “Coffee Cookie”. If you are at level 80, it becomes a bit easier.
What makes this method so special? The nice thing about this method is that you don’t have to compete with other players. You don’t have to worry about someone defeating a monster from which you need a special item, and you also don’t have to push through sellers at the market board.
Furthermore, you can use this method entirely by yourself, as you don’t need to form a group to tackle a dungeon or raid.
How to make Coffee Cookies and earn money – Here’s how
What are the requirements? First of all, you need to have the crafting profession of Gourmet at level 79 or 80. This unlocks the required recipe. Ideally, you also have the gathering profession Botanist at level 78 or higher. This allows you to collect the necessary ingredients yourself and save money.
Additionally, you need supply allowances to accept a crafting allowances quest. You receive 3 of these allowances every 12 hours, thus 6 per day. You can have a maximum of 100 of these allowances (called Leves in English) at the same time. Your current number can be seen in the supply menu, but you share this across all classes.
Where do I need to go now? If you meet the requirements, you can head to Crystarium in the region of Norvrandt. This is the first major city in the Shadowbringers expansion. Go to the area “The Canopy”. Walk or teleport with the Aetherytes to the point “Community Workshop”.
There you’ll find the NPC Eirikur, a Hrothgar who distributes the crafting allowances. The allowance of interest to you is in the category of crafting allowances under level 78 and is called “Really Gluttonous”. It’s important that you can submit 3x 3 cookies per allowance. After you submit the first 3, you will be asked if you want to submit more. Definitely do that!
You can even further increase your profit by only submitting HQ cookies. This gives you a 100% bonus on top. Although the reward per crafting allowance varies slightly, this way you will maximize your profit.
How much money can I make with this method in the long term? Since you receive 6 allowances per day, you can complete it a total of 180 times in a month. On average, you receive 3,000 Gil per allowance.
If you submit 9 cookies per allowance, you will receive 9,000 Gil. If the cookies are of high quality, your profit doubles to an average of 18,000 Gil.
However, you will only earn these amounts if you do not have to purchase ingredients and elemental crystals. You mainly need fire crystals for this. So it’s worth having a botanist.
With your 6 daily allowances, you can therefore average about 108,000 Gil per day with this method. If you have accumulated 100 allowances and do not use them otherwise, you can earn between 1.6 and 1.8 million Gil with the Coffee Cookies.
The ingredients for Coffee Cookies
What ingredients do I need for the cookies? The recipe for Coffee Cookies is relatively simple. For 3 Coffee Cookies, you need:
- 1x Highland Flour
- 5x Highland Wheat (turns into 3x Highland Flour) and 7x Fire Crystal
- 1x Coffee Bean
- 1x Garden Turnip Sugar
- 5x Garden Turnip (turns into 3 Garden Turnip Sugar) and 6x Fire Crystal
- 7x Fire Crystal and 7x Water Crystal
If you have saved 100 allowances – because you have not used them like me and thus reached the maximum – then you need for 900 cookies:
- 500 Highland Wheat
- 300 Coffee Beans
- 500 Garden Turnips
- 2100 Water Crystals
- 3400 Fire Crystals
However, you should expect that both the crafting of the 100 recipes and the submission of 900 cookies may take some time.
Is it difficult to make the cookies? Basically, anyone with a level 80 Gourmet and level 80 gear should be able to make the cookies without any issues. If you have a full set of Artisan’s Holy Gear for white crafting certificates, it shouldn’t be a problem. If you don’t have this yet, you should farm it and invest in the gear.
But even with the first full gear for level 80, you can achieve a high quality of cookies. You can buy the armor and tools of item level 430 in Crystarium. However, the accessories can only be found at the market board or crafted yourself. With the gear, you should be able to achieve a high quality with a bit of practice.
Gathering ingredients for Coffee Cookies
Where can I gather the ingredients? You can gather the ingredients in the Shadowbringers zones, specifically in Kholusia and Il Mheg. You can find the Highland Wheat in the south of the map in the area around Sea View. Just teleport to Werfting.
The Coffee Beans can also be found in Kholusia. Fly to the Gravel Fields in the northwest of the map or teleport to Tomra and head south. You unlock access to the northern part of Kholusia later in the Shadowbringers story. If you’re not that far yet, ask a friend to fly you to the Aetheryte.
Garden Turnips can be found in Il Mheg, near the Wool Path by the shore of the Great Mirror. The shortest way to get there is via the Aetheryte near Lydha Lran.

Fire Crystals and Water Crystals can actually be found in all areas in Shadowbringers. Both botanists and miners can gather these. Helpful skills are also “Earth’s Favor” and “Gift of Shards”. Alternatively, you can buy crystals at the market board – however, this reduces your profit.
Will this method work after the release of Endwalker? This question can be answered with a “Yes, but”. Yes, submitting Coffee Cookies should work unless an unannounced change is made.
However, it will be less profitable. Because experiences show that the rewards for these “Leves”, i.e., crafting allowances, are halved. Crafting will become easier. There will probably be an equally profitable method in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. We will keep you updated!
