Final Fantasy XIV hat eine neue Idee für Dungeons

At PAX East 2016, upcoming content for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV was announced.

One of the most exciting announcements is a new dungeon, the Palace of the Dead! In this, you will fight against eerie undead, with the developers explaining that the dungeon crawl is intended to play differently than all previous dungeons in the MMO. This is said to be due to an innovative system through which you can obtain loot or advance in the dungeon.

An Unusual Dungeon

The dungeon features its own level system, which operates independently of the game’s overall level system. This system is intended to enhance abilities, placing less emphasis on the levels of your items. The dungeon is also set to provide an interesting solo experience. However, you can face the undead with a group as well.

Additionally, the dungeon will be randomly generated, making each adventure unique. It is therefore not entirely unreasonable to refer to the Palace of the Dead as a roguelike. However, they did not want to share more details about it. The fact is, the Palace of the Dead is meant to be a truly special dungeon experience.

Patch 3.3 and a New Expansion Are Coming

Moreover, the team behind Final Fantasy XIV is already working on Patch 3.3, which will bring many new features, including new Hildibrand quests. They are also working on allowing players to summon Chocobos in dungeons and are analyzing feedback from the last update. Additionally, they are preparing the next expansion, which will also introduce new jobs.

Currently, they are focused on creating new areas for the expansion but are also keeping in mind the flight system that many fans have requested for all game areas. Fans can also look forward to the Doomtrain, and they want to give the Moogles more focus and work on their image. Furthermore, several Deep Dungeons like the Palace of the Dead are set to follow.
