The Early Access of Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail is just around the corner. To help you get started with the two new jobs, we have all the information here on finding and unlocking the Viper and the Pictomancer.
For the Early Access of Dawntrail starting Friday, June 28, Square Enix will release the two new jobs Viper and Pictomancer. Those who pre-ordered the expansion can get started right away. The official release is on July 2, 2024.
Attention: If you do not own the Dawntrail expansion, you will not be able to play the jobs or the female Hrothgar.

The Viper – Finding and Unlocking
What kind of job is this? The Viper is a fast attacker in melee combat. If you enjoy seeing high damage numbers fly across the screen, you will have a lot of fun here. With an adventurer flair, the Viper resembles a mix of Rick O’Connell from The Mummy and Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean: Cool, exciting, and with swords.
How to Unlock the Viper
The Viper starts at Level 80. Here are the requirements:
- Warrior or Mage Level 80
- Where: Ul’dah – Nald Crossroads (X:9.3 Y:9.2)
- NPC: Seeking Help Weaver
Complete the quest and equip the weapon of the Viper to switch to the job. By the way, we played the new class:
The Pictomancer – Finding and Unlocking
What kind of job is this? The Pictomancer is a mage class and attacker. With a magical brush, you create spells and turn your drawings into reality. You can, for example, summon a Moogle drawing that attacks for you. Another ability allows you to create a hammer that you can smash into your enemies’ heads.
How to Unlock the Pictomancer
The Pictomancer starts at Level 80. Here are the requirements:
- Warrior or Mage Level 80
- Where: Old Gridania (X:8.0 Y:10.3)
- NPC: Disturbed Mage
Complete the quest and equip the weapon of the Pictomancer to switch to the job. We played the new class:
Beastmaster – The Third New Class
Will the Beastmaster appear with 7.0? Unfortunately, the class is still on its way. It will be added during the 7.x patch series.
What is the Beastmaster? The Beastmaster will be a limited job like the Blue Mage. With its own abilities and content.
