In the fantasy MMO Final Fantasy XIV, good news seems to keep coming. After China, they now want to conquer Korea.
Somehow, lately, there have been rather depressing news from many MMOs on the market. Shortly after release, the previously mostly positive news gets overshadowed by negative ones. One only receives a positive vibe from a handful of games.
This handful of MMOs includes Final Fantasy XIV. Because everything is going smoothly there. They have made it to the Playstation 4, the China expansion went well and now they have agreed on a deal with a Korean partner to bring the game to the South Korean market, which is one of the most important in the world, as South Koreans are crazy about client-based MMOs.
In Korea, Free2Play is usually played. The question is whether Final Fantasy XIV will deviate from its Pay2Play model or adapt it accordingly. With an expansion into these important markets and the planned port to other platforms, the future of Final Fantasy XIV seems to be bright. Final Fantasy XIV is expected to be playable in Korea starting in 2015.
