Final Fantasy 14 will receive a new expansion called Stormblood in 2017. In it, we will experience new adventures from the desert city of Ala Mhigo, continue the story, and level up our heroes to level 70. Additionally, there will be a new feature that allows us to share our skills between classes.
At the “Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest 2016” in Las Vegas, the developers from Square Enix announced the title of the new expansion for Final Fantasy 14. The new addon is called Stormblood. It takes us to the desert, specifically to the city of Ala Mhigo. There, and in the surroundings of the metropolis, we can expect a lot of new adventures. By the way, these will already be initiated with the upcoming updates in Final Fantasy 14.
At least as big as Heavensward
According to the developers, we don’t have to worry about the contents of Stormblood. The new expansion is expected to be on par with the already known addon Heavensward in size and at least just as extensive. That’s good news, as Heavensward offered a decent selection of content.
Unfortunately, we still have to be a little patient because Stormblood is not expected to be officially released until summer 2017. In the meantime, the upcoming regular updates – like Patch 3.4 Soul Surrender – for Final Fantasy 14 should keep us entertained and build anticipation. Additionally, there is an exciting render trailer for the addon.
