In the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, players can create their own character with the character editor. A fan is so excited about his character that he has created a life-sized bronze statue of her. The figure now stands in his garden.
What kind of figure is this? The player created a bronze statue for his own in-game character named Yoko Akatsuki. He worked on the project for a total of six months.
With all costs for materials, tools and the support in casting the statue, he has spent a considerable sum of around 5,000 US dollars.
The figure weighs 450 kg and has a height of 1.50 m. This is actually the true size of his in-game character, as his character belongs to the Au Ra, who can be smaller than other types. The weight is probably not entirely accurate, even though the Au Ra wears heavy armor.

The figure is hollow so that the artist could save material and the transport is therefore easier. He mostly constructed the statue alone, as he has recently discovered sculpting as a hobby.
Before casting the bronze statue, he made a mold from clay, plaster and modeling mass. With the molds, he then poured the individual parts with external help, which he then assembled as a complete statue.
The project was particularly challenging because of deciphering the blurry textures in the game and embellishing armor, sword, and shield with small details. Fortunately, a graphics update for Final Fantasy 14 is coming soon, which could solve the problem of blurry textures.
Fans of Final Fantasy 14 are excited about the statue
Many users are excited about the statue. One user is already thinking decades ahead and suggests that the statue could be found by future humanity in the year 3023, which would then study it more closely.
Another fan jokes that humanity might think the statue used to be a goddess of war for the previous civilization. The sculptor simply hopes that it won’t be melted down for weapons or metal someday.

Another user mocks that he would have saved a lot of time with a Lalafell as an in-game character. This character type is a good bit smaller than the Au Ra. But the sculptor counters that he probably would have only saved a week, as the details on the armor took him the most time.
