Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of players, especially on certain servers. To alleviate the overcrowded realms, Square Enix offers attractive rewards and bonuses for players who voluntarily migrate and transfer to other servers.
Final Fantasy 14 is, despite the subscription model, a popular online role-playing game with a large player base. However, many of these players congregate on a handful of servers that are increasingly struggling under the load. As Square Enix is expecting even more players at the soon-to-be launch of the Stormblood expansion, access restrictions and bonuses for voluntary transfers from the overcrowded realms have now been implemented.
Final Fantasy XIV – “You can’t get in here” – These servers are closed for now
As an above-average number of players are distributed across a few realms, Square Enix has swiftly halted character creation there and also blocked transfers to these servers. The following realms are affected and can currently only be accessed by players who already have a character there:
- Bahamut
- Chocobo
- Mandragora
- Shinryu
- Balmung
- Gilgamesh
Final Fantasy 14 – Bonuses for voluntary transfers from overcrowded servers
So if you really want to play on these servers, unfortunately, you are out of luck. However, Square Enix offers attractive bonuses if you decide to transfer to other, designated realms. The following bonuses are available:
- Transfers to designated realms are free
- There is an XP boost up to level 60
- Those who reach a certain level receive additional Gil and free playtime
- You can now take up to 10,000,000 Gil per character and 5,000,000 Gil for each of your minions with you (regardless of which world you transfer to).
- It is planned that your housing expenses will be reimbursed during the transfer
Additionally, Square Enix intends to unlock more new servers with the launch of Stormblood on June 20. These are expected to offer the same bonuses as the designated servers.
