The coop survival MMO Rend will offer many interesting areas where you will experience adventures. Recently, the Highlands were presented along with the creatures you will encounter there.
Explore the Dangerous Highlands
From the Stagswood to the Highlands. If you travel through the recently introduced Stagswood, eventually the trees of this forest give way to the rocks of a bare plateau. Here you will be greeted by a majestic view of the land. But don’t let that distract you. Because in the Highlands, many dangers await you as well. Especially at night, you will face wildcats that are on the hunt for prey. You must confront these challenges, as the Highlands are very important:
- Secure control points. The Highlands are a strategically important location in the game world. Here you will find control points that you must capture and hold while you establish an outpost. This way, you protect the portals leading to rival countries.
- Gather important resources. The Highlands offer many iron and gold veins, but also important moonlight chalcedony in the arcane pools. You can find these near the standing Sagastein obelisks. The few deciduous trees and ironwood trees provide you with Yxengras and Eventide halos as resources.
- Survival is important. The Highlands present many dangers. These include the rocs and wildcats, but also the climate. The howling winds drop the temperatures below freezing at night, which can be very dangerous.
Rocs are enemies and resource providers. During the day, the dangerous rocs patrol the plateau of the Highlands. These giant flightless birds can be recognized by their distinctive cries. They usually stay in herds, making them more dangerous in groups than alone. They are led by a matriarch who coordinates the birds for an attack. In combat, be especially careful not to get caught by their massive beaks. If you defeat a roc, you will receive the birds’ meat, which refreshes even tired warriors. The colorful feathers of the rocs are needed for crafting, as they have special properties.
Currently, the survival MMO Rend is in the alpha phase.
