The Brazilian professional footballer Wendell Lira is hanging up his boots. He now wants to make a splash on the console with FIFA 17.
Many amateur players and console athletes dream of being able to compete on the grand stage of world football. For only a few does this dream come true.
For the Brazilian Wendell Lira, the situation is quite different: Throughout his career, he has been repeatedly set back due to injuries and would like to replace this unfortunate career with that of a professional e-sports player and YouTuber. However, he still needs to create a YouTube channel where he wants to showcase his skills in FIFA 17.
The 27-year-old made international headlines as a footballer by winning the Puskás Award. This award is given to the world’s best goal scorer – the player who scored the most beautiful goal of the year. As a player of Goianésia EC, he scored a dream goal in a 2:1 victory against Atlético Goianiense on March 11, 2015, with which he outshone world stars like Messi and Tévez.
Wendell has some serious skills on the controller
The chances that Wendell Lira has a successful future as an e-sports player are looking quite good. When he accepted his prize for the beautiful goal, he showcased some of his dexterity on the sidelines of the event. He defeated the then FIFA champion (FIWC) Abdulaziz Alshehri 6:1.
