Update, December 23: On this Friday, December 23 at 7:00 PM, the Winter Wildcards event brings new special cards into play. These will likely be cards with significantly improved stats.
It is not yet known whether upgrades for weak foot and skill moves will be included.
When does the event start? A new loading screen announces the winter event. It starts on this Monday, December 19 at 7:00 PM.
This is a bit unusual for FUT events; usually, most FUT promos go live on Fridays.
Update, December 19 at 7:00 PM: The event is now live, and all players who log in to FUT receive their first token. A total of 25 tokens will be available until the end of the promo on January 6.

What are Winter Wildcard Swaps? Winter Wildcards is not new and has already caused a lot of new special cards last year. There were extremely powerful special cards for superstars like Neymar, Pogba, or Coman, who could receive not only stat boosts but also upgrades for skill moves or weak foot.
How the Winter Wildcards will be upgraded this year is currently still unknown.
What content will there be? The “Swaps” in the title of the loading screen indicates that it will again be a swap event. Therefore, tokens should land in FUT, which can be earned by playing offline and online matches and exchanged for new special cards, packs, or various icon packs.
All leaks and info about Winter Wildcard Swaps
Officially, no content of the new winter event is known yet. EA only shows the new card design in the new loading screen and what type of rewards can be obtained with the earned tokens. So there are icon player picks, winter wildcards, and packs as rewards.
These leaks already exist: The well-known FUT leaker FUTSherriff (via Twitter) also has a few leaks this time. He promises the FUT community the following winter wildcards:
- LF: Saint-Maximin
- ST: Adama Traoré
- ST: Benzema
- LV: Robertson
However, keep in mind that the leaks should be taken with caution. Different cards might appear at the end.
