What is the TOTY? In the “TOTY”, the Team of the Year, the 11 best players of the year are represented – or at least those nominated by the fans.
The TOTY was indeed chosen by fans. Both forwards and midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers could be nominated individually.
When is the TOTY release? The TOTY will be released in stages.
- Forwards are available from January 20 to 21
- Midfielders from January 22 to 23
- Defenders and goalkeepers from January 24 to 25
- From January 26, all cards will be available again.

The cards are expected to land in the packs of FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. However, it’s important to note that the chance of getting such cards is tiny.

This is the FIFA 23 TOTY: The 11 players in the TOTY are now known. So far, only the overall ratings are known, not the individual ratings on the card. But it is already clear that it is an extremely strong TOTY.

- CM: Bellingham (95) – A very popular player in FIFA 23
- ST: Benzema (97)
- CM: De Bruyne
- CB: Militao (94). Also a popular meta defender.
- RB: Hakimi (94) – will also be a top card at RB,

New TOTY Icons and the 12th Man

Who will be the 12th Man in the TOTY? This is still open, as there will be an extra vote in the game for the 12th TOTY card. The candidates are also already known. Up for the vote are:
- Forward Erling Haaland
- Midfielder Federico Valverde
- Defender João Cancelo
Overall, it’s noticeable: In the TOTY as well as in the vote for the 12th Man, there are many cards that are already very popular in the meta of FIFA 23. They will now get another boost and are likely to be even more powerful in this form.
A clearer insight will be available as soon as the exact stats on the cards are known. It is also clear at the same time: Cristiano Ronaldo will not actually end up in the TOTY – not even as the 12th Man.
