You want to start with a Bundesliga team in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team (FUT) and not spend too many coins? Then we have a cheap starter team for you that can impress with good stats despite its low price.
What kind of team is this? We have selected players who have strong values in the most important areas but are not too expensive. With this team, you should manage well through the first days in FUT while you gather more coins for stronger players.
Currently, the complete team should cost around 36,000 coins (as of September 26, 2022), which is about 3,200 coins per card. However, some players are cheaper, while you have to pay a slightly higher amount for others. It might be worth replacing some players with alternatives depending on your budget.

11 good Bundesliga players for starting in Ultimate Team

For the team, we opted for a classic 4-4-2 formation, with which you can’t go wrong in the beginning. We searched for a mix of players that combines speed with good passing and defending stats. Here is the Bundesliga starter team:
In the attack, you will find two players, Nmecha and Adeyemi, who especially impress with speed and good dribbling stats. It shouldn’t be a problem to overcome the opponent’s defense. The only downside are the shooting stats, which still leave something to be desired.
- Alternatives: If you prefer a stronger finishing striker, Timo Werner would be a good option, though it costs a few more coins.
In central midfield, we have set up two physically strong players, Laimer and Can, who can defend well and create scoring opportunities offensively. Especially Can has strong overall values for the start that make him a true all-rounder.
- Alternatives: Florian Wirtz is also an interesting midfielder if you are looking for a more offensive option. He is more agile than Laimer and Can and has significantly better dribbling stats.
On the wings, there are two fast players, Roussillon and Baku, who can create quite a stir. Both have strong pace stats and should be able to create some chances with their good passing and dribbling stats.
- Alternatives: Other alternatives are Brekalo and Szobozslai, who have similar stats. A better alternative, due to stronger shooting stats, would be Malen from Borussia Dortmund, who currently costs a proud 12,000 coins.
The defense consists of Raum (who has received a proper upgrade), Gvardiol, Mavropanos, and Frimpong, all of whom are quite fast and also have decent defensive stats. This back four shouldn’t be easily overrun by opposing strikers.
- Alternatives: If you have a bit more coins available, Lacroix for center-back would be a good choice as he offers a bit more pace. Or Klostermann, who impresses with even stronger physique.
In goal, you are flexible as always, because especially in the Bundesliga there are many good goalkeepers. We opted for Casteels due to his height of 1.97 meters. However, Baumann and Kobel are also strong options.
However, keep in mind that prices can still vary significantly, as FIFA 23 has not officially been released yet and different transfer markets have been merged for the first time.
