The FIFA community has noticed a feature in the Pro Clubs mode of FIFA 23 that shouldn’t actually exist. Can you soon play Pro Clubs across platforms?
When EA announced crossplay ahead of the release of FIFA 23, the community was initially excited. But as the release date approached and the development studio confirmed that there would be no crossplay for the popular Pro Clubs mode, many FIFA players were disappointed and even wrote an open letter.
However, now, nearly 3 months after the release, the community has found the first hints of crossplay in Pro Clubs.
What the community has discovered: The reddit user WoodsDuck posted a picture (via reddit) that shows the members of a club in Pro Clubs. The special thing: In addition to the names of the players, the symbols of various platforms are visible. Exactly the symbols that are already known from the crossplay of other FIFA modes.
This means that a FIFA player has discovered a feature that actually doesn’t exist in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs. Normally, only players from the same platform can join a Pro Club.
But there is a problem: You cannot currently play Pro Clubs with other platforms. As WoodsDuck confirms in the same thread, an error message appears when trying to play together. The feature does not seem to be activated yet.
Is this a bug or a feature? You can’t rule out that this is just a bug. But it could very well be a test by EA to prepare for crossplay in Pro Clubs.
A practice that the development studio has often applied in recent years for new features. Furthermore, EA commented on the crossplay debate in August 2022 (via GamePro) and promised that the feature will come. Whether in FIFA 23 or only in the upcoming FIFA successor EA Sports FC was still open at that time.
Now it looks like crossplay in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs could happen very quickly.
