As with every FIFA release, FIFA players have to get used to the new gameplay and adjust their playing style this year. It is now important to find out what the new meta is and to recognize which playing style guarantees many goals, prevents conceding, and ideally leads to numerous victories.
This is how the gameplay in FIFA 23 is: On reddit players are discussing the new gameplay and what has changed compared to FIFA 22. The community particularly notes 3 aspects:
- The pace of the game has slowed down significantly. Players now take noticeably longer to move across the pitch, which feels more realistic for many.
- Dribbling with the left stick has become clumsier, making it harder to navigate players in tight spaces.
- Passing is no longer as reliable as in the predecessor for some.
Players celebrate speed and have issues with dribbling

There are many positive voices, especially praising the slower and therefore more realistic gameplay. However, most disagreements arise with the new left stick dribbling.
