In FIFA 23, you also have the chance to see how high your chance is to pull high-rated cards from packs. We take a look at your possible chances.
Every FUT player wants to improve their team with strong stars. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to get them: The packs with such cards cost a lot of coins and the chances of getting good players are usually very low.
Alternatively, you can buy strong players on the transfer market. But the cards with the best ratings generally cost a lot of coins. While you can earn a lot of coins through smart trading or good rewards from Division Rivals, Weekend League, or other new modes in FUT, it takes a lot of patience to buy top cards like Mbappé.
Many players therefore hope to get good cards faster through pack openings. But what do the chances look like?
Top cards slightly less likely than last year
Here are the chances: In the FUT store, players can take a closer look at all current packs. The probabilities for strong cards are displayed, so you can at least see somewhat how high the chance is for a card with good ratings.
When you take a close look at the chances in FUT 23, you will find that the probabilities have gotten slightly worse than at the start of FIFA 22.
Here are the differences:
- Premium Gold Pack in FIFA 22 – Gold Players (84+) – 7.7 % (As of 03.10.2021)
- Premium Gold Pack in FIFA 23 – Gold Players (84+) – 7.4 % (As of 22.09.2022)
So don’t expect a top card to appear in every pack. With 7.4 % in FIFA 23, your chance looks somewhat worse than last year.
It should also be noted that it is unclear how the distribution within that 7.4 % looks. It is assumed that the chance of an 84-rated player is significantly higher than, for example, that of a 91-rated player.
Probabilities in the Premium Gold Pack
In FIFA 23, there is currently a Premium Gold Pack. The pack costs just like last year 7,500 coins, but includes, as shown in our comparison, a slightly lower probability of pulling top cards. For players with an 84+ rating, you have a 7.4 % chance to get one.
The chance of a Team of the Week player is currently 1.7 % and also very low.
Probabilities in the Premium Silver Pack
Once again, there is a Premium Silver Pack. The probability of getting a silver player with a 74+ rating is 11%.
Probabilities in the Premium Bronze Pack
Finally, there is the Premium Bronze Pack. Through this pack, you have the chance to get bronze players for a very low price. The cost is 750 coins, with a 41 % probability of getting a 64+ bronze player.
What about other packs and special cards? Currently, there are only these three packs in the FIFA 23 Web App – and a preview version of the Premium Gold Pack. However, it is assumed that different additional promo packs will be added. These will then have different probabilities.
Furthermore, over time, additional special cards will be added. These will also have their own probability values.
Are Packs worth it? Comparing the values from previous years with those of this year, one quickly realizes that the chance of popular top cards is even lower.
Whether you want to spend your coins on packs or even invest real money in the game is up to you. However, considering this year’s probabilities, it quickly becomes clear that you shouldn’t hope for high player ratings from packs. Generally, the investment is rarely worth it.
Most of the time, it’s wiser to earn packs purely through gameplay – as rewards from modes like Rivals, Squad Battles, Champions, and more. You should rather spend coins on the transfer market and directly buy the players you need – instead of relying on luck.
The exception is the preview pack: Here, you can check every day what contents are actually inside. So, you are taking no risk of getting something that is not worth it.
