Update, October 28, at 7:00 PM: The event is now live and the new OOP cards are available. Especially strong cards are available for Salah (92), who is now a striker, as well as for CM Cancelo (90), LF Hernandez (88), and RF James (88).

When does Out of Position start in FIFA 23? The event starts on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 7:00 PM in FIFA 23. This is now confirmed by a loading screen in Ultimate Team, after leaks had previously hinted at the possible event.
At 7:00 PM, the current Rulebreakers event will also end and make way for the new promo. But what could the event bring?
What does Out of Position bring to FIFA 23?
What kind of event will this be? The name itself is already a pretty clear hint. It is likely to be an event where players are assigned to other, perhaps unusual positions.
Such an event has already occurred in the past in FIFA, called “Shapeshifters” – but it didn’t arrive until very late, in Summer 2022, in FIFA 22. It provided some of the most popular players in Ultimate Team with new positions.
Left-back Davies from Bayern, for example, received a striker card, defender Sergio Ramos also landed in attack, and Mario Gomez suddenly ran around in defense. Similar changes are expected for “Out of Position”.
What do leaks say about Out of Position in FIFA 23?
Leaks about Out of Position in FIFA 23: After leakers had already revealed that this event could be coming in recent days, first candidates for special cards are now also known.
The well-known leaker “FUT Sheriff” has shared on Twitter some names.
Notably, Salah is expected to come as a striker and Theo Hernandez as an attacking player. Reece James is also apparently getting a card, as well as Cancelo.
However, these are still just leaks, not official information. Which cards will ultimately appear in the event remains to be seen – until the start of Out of Position.
In FIFA 23, new positions could be even more interesting, as the chemistry system has significantly changed. There are now alternative positions for various players, but also the restriction that they only provide chemistry in their correct position.
Positions have become much more important in FIFA 23 than before. All the more exciting new alternatives could become.
