In FIFA 23 is now the Title Update 5 available, now also for PS4 and Xbox One. We show you what’s in the patch notes – and what players are currently still missing.
When will Title Update 5 come? The new patch is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This was announced by EA Sports via Twitter.
Update, December 1, 2022, 12:00 PM: As EA Sports announced via Twitter, the update is now also available for Xbox One and PS4.

The most important changes from Title Update 5 in FIFA 23 – Patch Notes
This is shown in the patch notes for the update: The patch seems to be less extensive this time than the last major gameplay update, which among other things ended the Lengthy meta. Nevertheless, there are some interesting changes. We show you the most important ones.
- The “Driven Lobbed Through Pass”, that is, the powerful, lifted pass into the run, will be somewhat less accurate if you are not facing in the right direction, and it will also fly lower.
- You activate the pass by pressing L1/LB + R1/RB + Triangle / Y. It has been a strong option for passes into the gaps up front.
- Partially, goalkeepers did not react correctly to balls passed in front of them. This has been improved.
- Partially, the ball could fly further away when dribbling than expected.
- If you wanted to fire a outside-foot shot in certain situations, a flair shot could mistakenly occur instead.
- The placeholder images in the Ultimate Team graphics that sometimes appeared have been fixed.
- The referee logic has been adjusted when fouls are evaluated during player contact with the keeper.
In addition, there are more minor corrections to the gameplay, as well as further bug fixes in the World Cup mode, the career mode, Pro Clubs X Volta. Furthermore, there are updates for various emblems, scenes, the audience, and other visual elements.

Overall, there don’t seem to be any significant changes in the game. However, some fans are wishing for further adjustments.
What are players demanding? In the FIFA subreddit and on Twitter, some players are already reacting to the patch notes for Title Update 5. The first reactions show that they are still noticing other issues that should be improved.
Three issues stand out particularly:
- For some players, the controller settings appear to reset now and then (via reddit). This can lead to certain customized settings being lost, requiring them to be set again. This issue has already been mentioned in the last patch – but seems to still be a problem for some.
- Currently, some correct player faces are missing in the game. Recently, there was even a bug in Ultimate Team where the icon Drogba suddenly looked like Maldini on the pitch (via reddit).
- Moreover, players (including via reddit) report that the radar disappears during a game. However, it can be very useful to maintain overview and build a strong offense.
Overall, it remains to be seen how the patch ultimately affects gameplay. This will likely become apparent in the coming days as players get used to the patch.
