FIFA 23 will finally introduce proper crossplay. However, fans of the popular Pro Clubs mode are disappointed.
For years, FIFA players have wished for crossplay. After some initial tests in FIFA 22, this dream will finally come true in FIFA 23. However, not all FIFA fans are thrilled, as the popular Pro Clubs mode will be left out.
This is crossplay: Many shooters like Fortnite or Warzone demonstrate it. They can be played across consoles without any issues. This allows PC players to play together with PlayStation and Xbox owners. This will now also be possible in FIFA 23 – just not in all game modes.
This is how crossplay works in FIFA 23: EA Sports has published a comprehensive blog post (via EA) about crossplay in FIFA 23. It lists all systems that support crossplay and shows which modes allow crossplay and whether these work with friends or in matchmaking.

However, one mode is notably absent here: Pro Clubs.

No crossplay for Pro Clubs in FIFA 23 – The community is complaining
In the subreddit for FIFA, Pummpy1 (via reddit) published an open letter to EA, expressing concern that the latest iteration of FIFA will not feature crossplay for Pro Clubs and demanding an explanation from EA.
What the open letter states:
- An explanation from EA is requested as to why crossplay will be missing in Pro Clubs.
- EA is also asked to explain why Pro Clubs is being ignored.
- The author accuses EA of wanting to kill the mode.
- Is the lack of crossplay support due to FIFA? Does the developer lack sufficient resources?
- In the end, the author explains that not everyone wants to play FUT and that if EA does not respond, the community, including the Pro Clubs leagues, will be encouraged to publicly address the issues.
What does EA say about it? So far, there has been no response from the FIFA developer regarding the issue. As soon as this changes, you will be informed in this post.
What does the community say about the letter: The open letter has received a lot of support in the FIFA community and is gathering quite a few upvotes.

- Sorpma: ‘In my opinion, this is a sign that they will abandon the mode. Without crossplay, it will be even harder to find matches on some platforms. This will result in fewer players playing, which will give EA an excuse to completely remove the mode soon.’
In the comments, desperate players even suggest that EA should monetize Pro Clubs so that the mode could become more attractive again through increased revenue for the developer:

- DSMilne: ‘They could simply introduce microtransactions for stadiums, jerseys, or customized player names. People would spend money and it would fund the improvements we all want.’
