What kind of cover is this? This cover belongs to the worldwide Ultimate Edition – that is, the version of FIFA 23 that will come with several bonuses.
What is still not known are the actual contents of the Ultimate Edition. An official release date for FIFA 23 is still missing.
The cover itself is already exciting. Because instead of a single player, this time there is a duo featured – Kylian Mbappé and Sam Kerr.
Previously, the FIFA cover only rarely featured female football players: World Champion Alex Morgan, for example, was on the US cover of FIFA 16, Christine Sinclair on the Canadian, and Stephanie Catley on the Australian version.
However, Sam Kerr is now the first woman to appear on a worldwide FIFA cover.

Who is Sam Kerr from the new FIFA 23 cover?
This is Sam Kerr: Samantha “Sam” Kerr is a 28-year-old football player who has been playing for the English club Chelsea since the end of 2019. For many, she is perhaps the best striker in the world.
In 2021, Kerr not only became English champion with her team for the second time in a row but also secured the top scorer title with 21 goals in 22 matches. In the Champions League 20/21, she lost in the final with Chelsea against FC Barcelona but secured the second place.
Additionally, in 2021, the Australian was voted 2nd in the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year, behind Alexia Putellas from FC Barcelona.
Even in the national team’s attack, Kerr scores regularly: With currently 54 goals, she is the record goal scorer for Australia.
Who is Kylian Mbappé from the new FIFA 23 cover?
This is Kylian Mbappé: Mbappé is almost an old hat when it comes to FIFA covers. The Frenchman was also featured on the covers of FIFA 21 and 22, thus completing a hat trick.
To this day, Mbappé is considered one of the greatest talents on the planet, even though he has already achieved almost everything. The now 23-year-old became world champion with the French national team in 2018 and has also won five French championships.
What he still lacks, however, is the title in the Champions League.

How strong will the two cover stars be? There are no official ratings available for both yet, but it can be expected that the two cover stars will receive strong stats as usual. For Mbappé, it would be no surprise if he becomes perhaps the best player in the game this year.
Sam Kerr was rated 91 in FIFA 22 and is expected to again receive strong ratings as the new cover star. It is quite possible that she will be among the best players in FIFA 23 this year.
