In FIFA 22, the first step towards the TOTY event begins. As every year, the “Team of the Year” will bring extremely strong cards.
What’s happening in FIFA 22: EA Sports has announced the first cards that could be included in the Team of the Year for FIFA 22. This year, the attackers are the first to be revealed, with other positions to follow at a later date.
However, the actual voting will be delayed a bit: Fans can select and submit their starting eleven for the Team of the Year 2021 during the voting phase from Monday, January 10, 2022 at 5:00 PM, until January 18, 2022 at 8:59 AM.

Which attackers can be chosen? A list of 22 offensive players has been published who are eligible for the TOTY. All of them delivered strong performances last year and could thus receive a TOTY card.

Among the nominees are some strikers who are already very strong in the game. Stars like Kylian Mbappé, Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski, or Neymar already have extremely highly rated cards. Possible TOTY variants of these players are likely to have ratings in the range of 98 or 99.
However, other candidates from the list would also receive very strong cards. Examples like Immobile, Insigne, Payet, or Tadić could be exciting alternatives from other leagues.
What is the “TOTY” in FIFA 22?
What does the TOTY event bring? TOTY is the common abbreviation for “Team of the Year”, the Team of the Year. In Ultimate Team, this team is searched for each year and then equipped with extremely strong cards.
The basis of the team is a whole range of nominees from around the world who have been able to impress with particularly strong performances. From this pool, FIFA-22 players can then select which footballers will ultimately receive one of the strong TOTY cards.
