In FIFA 22 the complete Team of the Year (TOTY) is now available. We show you the players with their ratings.
What is the TOTY? The best players of the year are included in the “Team of the Year,” which is released with significantly improved cards in Ultimate Team. The TOTY is chosen by the fans – players decide which cards will ultimately be represented in the TOTY.
When does the TOTY start? The TOTY started on Friday evening, January 21, 2022, at 7:00 PM, with the striker cards. After that, the midfielders were released, followed by the TOTY defenders and goalkeeper.
Now, on January 27 at 7:00 PM, the complete Team of the Year is available. The 12th man should follow in the coming days.
Update, January 28, 2021: On Friday evening at 7:00 PM, even more strong cards went online in FUT, complementing the Team of the Year.
12th Man Ronaldo & Honorable Mentions are here
What are these cards? Cristiano Ronaldo won the vote for the 12th man in the TOTY and received a powerful 97-rated card. It is now available just like the rest of the TOTY in packs.
Additionally, there are now also “Honorable Mentions” in the packs. These are some TOTY candidates who didn’t quite make it into the Team of the Year, but are still receiving impressive cards. Although they are not as strong as real TOTYs, there are definitely some top cards among them:
Moreover, there is also a new card for Martinez in the SBCs and another one for Shaw in the weekly challenges.
The Team of the Year will also remain in packs for another week.

What else does the Team of the Year bring to FIFA 22?
The TOTY players are simply included in the packs of FIFA 22, which also leads to criticism. Because: The cards are not only very rare and hard to obtain, but also incredibly expensive on the transfer market.
This could also be seen with streamers who opened extremely many packs to ultimately get hardly any TOTY cards. Getting a TOTY card at release is therefore impossible for many players.
What could come next?
- Also this year there will be a “12th Man” again, which FUT players could vote for. The candidates were Benzema, Ronaldo, and Salah. When the 12th TOTY player will be released is currently unknown.
- Last year, there were “Honorable Mentions” cards for some players who didn’t quite make it into the TOTY. They received an upgrade too, but not as strong.
- Additionally, there are usually also special SBCs and weekly challenges included with the TOTY.
