How long will the servers be down? Today, a server maintenance is planned in FIFA 22. EA Sports announced this via their Direct Communication channel on Twitter.
The server work is set to take place between 08:00 and 10:30 AM (CET). However, matchmaking in Ultimate Team and Volta will be disabled 30 minutes earlier to prevent sudden match drops (via Twitter).
What is being worked on? EA Sports did not specify the reasons for the maintenance work. Players on the FIFA subreddit speculate that the work could be related to recent server issues. Some players specifically experienced problems with sudden disconnects during matches on Wednesday evening.
Additionally, Title Update 1 is also expected to be released for consoles today in FIFA 22. The patch was previously only available for PC – now PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X are set to receive the update. More information on the content of the Title Update 1 in FIFA 22 can be found here.
Server Maintenance During the Reward Day
In FIFA 22, you can collect your Division Rivals rewards today, on Thursday morning. It should still be functional while work is being done on the servers. During the last server work, players were still able to access the FUT menu, but matches were, of course, not available.
If you wanted to quickly grab a win or two before the rewards drop to aim for a better rewards tier, you’ll probably have to forgo that.
Once the server work is completed, you can also start the new Rivals week. However, some players have been frustrated with the new system in this mode. In Rivals, relegation is no longer possible – which is a problem for some players.
