In FIFA 22 you once again have the chance to see how high the odds are of finding top cards in packs. We’ll tell you if it is more likely this year to pull a player like Cristiano Ronaldo.
The dream of every FUT player is to have the best cards in their team. However, this is not so easy in Ultimate Team, as the best cards are often incredibly expensive and therefore unattainable for many players.
Although you can earn a fair number of coins through smart trading, it takes a lot of skill and patience to buy top cards like Mbappé.
Absolute top cards slightly more likely than last year
So here are the odds: In the FUT shop, you can view the probabilities for each pack. For example, you can see how high the chances are of receiving players above a certain rating.
If you take a close look at the chances in FUT 22, you’ll find that the probabilities are slightly better than at the start of FIFA 21.
Here are the differences:
- Premium Gold Pack in FIFA 21 – Gold players (84+) – 4.2% (as of 08.10.2020)
- Premium Gold Pack in FIFA 22 – Gold players (84+) – 7.7% (as of 03.10.2021)
Despite the minimal differences, one should not expect to pull a top card in every pack, as with 7.7% the chances of top cards are still quite low.
Odds in the Premium Gold Pack
Since there is no classic Gold Pack in FUT 22 anymore, we will first show you the current odds of the Premium Gold Pack, which can be purchased for 7,500 coins in the shop. As previously shown in the differences from last year, the chance of a top card with a rating above 84 is still a low 7.7%.
The chances of a special card are even below 1%.
Odds in the Jumbo Premium Gold Pack
When promo events such as the OTW event (Ones to Watch) are approaching in Ultimate Team, promo packs are not far behind. These are slightly more expensive than the standard packs but also offer better chances of getting a top player. Here are the chances of the Jumbo Premium Gold Pack for 15,000 coins.
The odds of getting a player with a rating of 85+ rise to 8.9% and you have a probability of 1.5 percent of getting an OTW player.
So it remains extremely difficult to find Mbappé, Neymar, Ronaldo, or even an Icon card in a pack in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. Even with the more expensive promo packs, the probability remains low.
However, the new preview packs can be an alternative. These allow you to open the pack, and only after you see the contents can you decide whether to purchase the pack or not. The only downside: Once you open a preview pack, you must wait 24 hours before you can open the next one.
Do packs pay off then? In summary, it can be said that packs in FIFA 22 continue to be a losing business. Only with an extreme amount of luck can you pull a very strong card. Therefore, it is advisable not to buy packs in the shop, but to earn packs through objectives and higher ranks in Division Rivals or Squad Battles. This way, you don’t spend FIFA Points or coins and can still hope for pack luck.
