When does Ones to Watch start? Ones to Watch starts on the same date as the official FIFA 22 release – that is, on October 1, 2021. It is expected to kick off at 7:00 PM with the OTW event. Around that time, events in Ultimate Team usually start.
Update, 6:36 PM: On Twitter, the Direct Communication channel shared a post (via Twitter), stating that the OTW packs for pre-orders may not be openable shortly after the event starts. Update, 5:00 PM: According to EA, the issues should be resolved once the event goes live at 7:00 PM. So do not open your OTW packs before that.

What is included in the OTW event? The Ones-to-Watch cards come into play during the OTW event. These are special player items based on the biggest transfers of the summer football season. Messi is one such player: He transferred from Barcelona to Paris and receives an OTW card.
The special thing about these cards is that they are dynamic items. They improve every time the player receives a TOTW or Player of the Match card.
Moreover, FIFA 22 features a new “Wins to Watch” mechanic. If the player’s real team wins 5 of the next matches in their league starting October 1, there will be a one-time upgrade by one point for the OTW player. Interestingly, the player does not even need to play.
We will now look at which cards are already known and what you can expect in the event.
What to expect in the OTW event
When will the cards be released? The OTW event will last for several weeks. The schedule is as follows:
- October 1 – 8: Team 1 is available
- October 3 – 8: Team 1 will be supplemented by 3 more cards
- October 8 – 13: Team 2 is available
- October 10 – 13: Team 2 will be supplemented by 3 more cards.
In total, there will be 28 OTW cards in packs.
Important: If you have pre-ordered the Ultimate Editions, you will receive an OTW player (available from October 1). Pay attention to when you open your respective pack: Your player will come from the pool of OTW cards available in packs during that period.
Exception: If you open your pack only after October 13, your player may come from both teams.

Additional players: In addition to the players in the packs, more players can be obtained during the event. Even now (i.e., before the event starts), you can obtain the OTW version of Xherdan Shaqiri (79 / Liverpool) through an SBC in the game.
Additionally, Camavinga from Real Madrid has been announced as an event player, which can be obtained through objectives. So you do not need to draw packs for him, but can earn the card.
