In FIFA 22, there is a new Squad Building Challenge where you can easily exchange a few unused players. As a reward, a good pack awaits.
What is this SBC? The Squad Building Challenge is called “Going Against the Grain” and belongs to the current Rulebreakers event. This event highlights cards that have unusual values. Accordingly, it is fitting that the SBC also has a few unusual requirements:
- Exactly 1 player from 1 country
- Exactly 5 players with min. 77 OVR
- Exactly 2 players with min. 80 OVR
- Min. 6 players: Rare
- Min. Silver players
- Max 75 team chemistry
- Number of players in the team: 11
The requirements are unusual because they ask for a maximum chemistry instead of a minimum chemistry. This means you can disregard connections and positions.
What do you get as a reward? If you complete the SBC, you get a “Rare Electrum Players Pack” (Untradeable). It usually costs 30,000 coins, so it’s not cheap and is among the best packs in FIFA 22. Therefore, it may be worth grabbing the pack – even if the contents are not tradable.
Because you might get reinforcements for your team or at least new SBC fodder: The pack contains 6 rare gold and 6 rare silver players.
How to solve the “Going Against the Grain” SBC in FIFA 22
What kind of players do you need? The requirements look confusing at first with all the numbers, but it’s actually quite simple. You only need:
- 5 gold players. Two of them need to have an OVR of 80 or more, and the other three between 77 and 79.
- You fill the rest with silver players.
- Make sure you need 6 rare players and that no two players come from the same country.

In short: Just check your club for any players you still have from untradeable packs or the like. Go to the SBC and select “only untradeable items” and then sort by quality, preferably from low to high.
Since chemistry doesn’t matter, you can also place goalkeepers in striker positions or try any other variation. Even if you don’t have any cards left in the club and want to buy players for the SBC on the transfer market, the solution should cost you no more than 4,000 coins – but usually, this SBC should be nearly free to complete.
Much harder is the new SBC for Chelsea player Kanté. He is currently available in the Flashback version. But is the special card for Kanté even worth it?
