The first ratings for FIFA 22 have been released, offering some crazy values. Here you will find an overview with cards like Llorente, Dias, Pepe, or Reus.
What are these ratings? On September 13, numerous values of player cards in FIFA 22 appeared. Among others, EA Sports published the 22 best players in FIFA 22.
But several clubs and players showed numerous cards on social media, so a decent overview of ratings has come together now.
This also starts the annual discussion: Which players are strong? Which have received a deserved upgrade? And: Which players have surprising values?
Especially the last question is being widely discussed in the FIFA community. Here we look at some of the most surprising values from the currently known ratings.
Marcos Llorente – The top player at the start?
This is Llorente’s card: Marcos Llorente was one of the most popular players in FIFA 21, especially at the start of the game. Most expected that his previous 82-rated card in FIFA 22 would get an upgrade. That the new values turn out to be this strong – that’s a bit surprising.
Llorente jumps four overall rating points up to 86. Upgrades are present in almost all areas:
- Speed stands out (from 84 to 88)
- His shot (from 74 to 80)
- Passing (from 79 to 81)
- Dribbling (81 to 82)
No changes in Defense (78) and Physical (82).
Overall, this results in a card that has wildly balanced values – but in the upper range. Very few players in midfield are as versatile. Thus, Llorente is likely to become a very early favorite – but also expensive.
Pepe turns up the pace – despite age
This is Pepe’s card: The Portuguese center-back Pepe is now 38 years old and plays for FC Porto. Normally, in FIFA, older players receive a downgrade – especially in speed.
However, Pepe seems to be an exception, as the defender gets a whole rating point added and rises from 81 to 82. The real standout is speed: it increases by a whole 14 points compared to FIFA 21, from 66 to 80.
This makes Pepe suddenly an exciting center-back for the start, especially since Defense (82) and Physical (87) also look strong. Such a significant upgrade was not expected.
Ruben Dias – Big leap, but slow
This is Ruben Dias’s card: Another Portuguese, another center-back: Ruben Dias follows Pepe and secures an upgrade. This one is even more significant in terms of overall rating: The ManCity player jumps from 81 to 87 and is thus one of the highest-rated defenders in the game.
Almost all values rose – only in speed, which is so important for many, does Ruben Dias take a hit. The defender drops from 65, which was already not high, to 61. This is surprising, especially in comparison to Pepe.
Reus and Brandt – Suddenly weak speed
These are the cards of Reus and Brandt: Speaking of pace: There were suddenly downgrades in speed even in the Bundesliga. This is particularly noticeable with two players from Borussia Dortmund: The attackers Marco Reus and Julian Brandt each drop to a pace value of 73.
For Reus, this means a drop of 7 points in pace (formerly 80), while Brandt drops even 8 points (previously 81). The latter also receives an overall downgrade of 3 points, from 84 to now 81.
The downgrade itself can be discussed. However, that both are suddenly about 10% slower than in the previous season is unexpected. At Bundesliga colleague Alphonso Davies looks a bit better in this regard.
Salah – Weaker than last year?
This is Salah’s card: Looking at Mohamed Salah’s statistics, one can see: The man scored a lot of goals again last year. 22 goals in the Premier League, 6 in the Champions League, and 3 in the FA Cup lead to a total of 31 goals in 51 matches.
At Liverpool, Salah was once again a decisive factor in the last season, which ended in 3rd place. That he still receives a downgrade from 90 to 89 surprises many fans (via reddit). Many expected that Salah would at least get the 90 again.
Of course, his 89-rated card is still among the top values in FIFA 22 and will certainly remain extremely dangerous in the new game. However, a downgrade was not necessarily expected for Salah.
