Since the early access release of FIFA 22, Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris has been eagerly playing the sports game. However, his fanbase on Twitch doesn’t seem to find much enjoyment in it. They are more thirsty for an 8-year-old classic.
This is what the fans want: MontanaBlack, colleague Trymacs, EliasN97, and many others are currently diving into the newly released FIFA 22. The multiplayer aspect of the annual football spectacle captivates millions of fans worldwide. FIFA 22 is also very popular on Twitch, even if the focus on the streaming platform is increasingly on opening FUT card packs rather than playing.
With 17.7 million hours watched in 7 days, FIFA 22 is currently the sixth largest game on Twitch.
Only one major German streamer seems not to benefit from the sustained hype: MontanaBlack’s fans are absent, indicating they would rather see their streamer play the relatively old GTA 5 Online. They say that Monte is simply the most entertaining here.
GTA-RP outshines FIFA 22: MontanaBlack sees 30% declines
Before FIFA 22 was playable for creators, MontanaBlack primarily dedicated himself to his roleplay in Grand Theft Auto 5 Online. On a RP server, he takes on a fictional role and experiences emotionally charged evenings, even with other streamers.
Since the release, the Hamburg streamer has been increasingly involved with FIFA 22. Mainly, he opens card packs in hopes of pulling a rare player. There are also real matches against streaming colleagues. Friend and colleague Trymacs recently had to take a hit against Monte despite having the best FUT team in the world.
Here are the numbers: While MontanaBlack plays GTA-RP or dives into Just Chatting, around 100,000 fans are watching him. In FIFA 22, this number drops by about 30%: Monte entertains “only” around 70,000 viewers while playing the football simulator.
What is GTA-RP about?
In GTA-RP, players create a new alias. This can either be based on their own personality or be entirely fictional. Monte’s character essentially reflects himself in a new environment.
All players share the open world of Los Santos and take on a job. However, there are always more options to make money: robberies, hostage-taking, or selling illegal goods, all of this is open to the participants. Players choosing the path of law enforcement must obviously prevent that.
The focus is on player interaction and how they handle given situations. Not everything goes smoothly: players troll or simply kill others, then the roleplay is over. But usually, it’s peaceful and absurdly funny:
