EA has announced FIFA 22 can now also be adjusted without proper Title Updates. The first changes will weaken long-distance shots. We will show you what changes.
So far, EA Sports has regularly provided the FIFA series with the so-called Title Updates. These patches bring more or less changes and mainly include corrections and gameplay adjustments.
Recently, the first major Title Update 1 for FIFA 22 was released, which made some adjustments to the very good goalkeepers.
But now there is a new type of update.
What are “Live Tuning Updates”? According to EA, the new Live Tuning Updates allow FIFA 22 to be adjusted without having to release a full Title Update. This enables gameplay changes to be published more quickly and frequently to tweak game balance.
We will show you what changes with the first LTU (Live Tuning Update).
What changes with Live Tuning Update 1
This is what the new mini-update brings: The patch notes for the first LTU only mention one change, but it is significant. The finesse shots from outside the penalty area will be weakened.
Specifically, it states:
- Finesse shots from 15.2 meters to 45.67 meters away from the goal lose accuracy.
However, how inaccurate the long-distance shots will actually be after the update remains to be seen. So far, long-distance shots have been the most effective method to score goals in FIFA 22.
When will the update be released? EA has not provided a specific release date. The announcement only states that the live update will be rolled out soon. When it happens, you should see a message about the changes within the game.
EA also advises to close and restart FIFA 22 once the message about the live update appears in the game. This is to ensure that the update is installed.
What do you think about the new Live Tuning Updates? Do you think it’s good that EA can respond quickly to change the balance? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
