Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig is Player of the Month in FIFA 22 – once again. The Frenchman collects special cards so regularly that it has become a running joke in the community.
What kind of card is this? The Player of the Month for the Bundesliga is awarded for the previous month and also leads to a special card in FIFA 22. You can’t get that in packs, but rather through Squad Building Challenges.
Christopher Nkunku is the new, current Player of the Month for “March” with a strong 91-rated card. However, FIFA players will see his face in this category not for the first time.
- In the previous month, February, Nkunku secured the special card, receiving a 90 overall rating.
- In October, Nkunku was already Player of the Month. At that time he got an 88.
But these are far from all the special cards Nkunku has been able to secure so far. In fact, he has already collected a total of 9 special cards in FIFA 22:
- Two “Team of the Week” cards
- Two “Rulebreakers” cards – although you could only get at most one
- One “Team of the Group Stage” card, for his performances in the Champions League up to this point
- One Headliner card – such cards were given to the best players of the first half of the season
- And additionally the 3 POTM cards, that is, “Player of the Month”
For comparison:
- Lionel Messi has collected only 3 special cards in FIFA 22
- Cristiano Ronaldo has 6
- Kylian Mbappé is tied with 9 special cards – although this number is also due to a faulty card appearing twice in the game.

Nkunku is this strong: What stands out with Nkunku is that, apart from the “Rulebreaker” cards, all his special cards are related to his real-life performances. Nkunku has impressive stats in real life as well:
- This season, Nkunku scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga and provided 14 assists (in 17 games)
- In the Champions League, he has 7 goals and 2 assists (in 6 games)
- In the DFB-Pokal, he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists (4 games)
- And one goal in the Europa League (1 game)
Furthermore, he has already scored two goals and provided three assists in just two games in April. Accordingly, players already see him as a “Player of the Month” candidate in April.

A player in the FIFA subreddit once created a theoretical team of Nkunkus, in which only one card would be missing (two if you count the Rulebreakers as just one).
However, he expects one more Nkunku card for the Team of the Season – and that is also relatively likely, as the best players of the season are awarded in each individual league.
