In FIFA 22 features plenty of special cards that are currently dominating Ultimate Team. Which gold cards actually stand out?
Every year there’s speculation: Which players will get the best rating in the new FIFA? Many fans are looking forward to the new stats that will land on the players’ gold cards.
However, it often doesn’t take long before the “normal” cards are overtaken by special cards from events and simply don’t hold up against the improved stats of the competition.
Right now, in March, it’s noticeable: In events like FUT Fantasy, FUT Birthday, and similar, an extreme number of cards enter the game that have a significant impact on the “power curve” in Ultimate Team.
But there are still a few gold cards that can keep up. We’ll take a look at them here and provide the current price (on PlayStation – via futbin). Because: Some of them are now affordable, but still strong.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Price: approx. 118,000 coins
What makes Ronaldo stand out: Ronaldo may not have as much speed as he used to, but he can still maintain good pace with an Engine style. His shooting stats are beyond any doubt, and in aerial duels, he remains a weapon.
With his 5-star skills, CR7 is still extremely dangerous in terms of dribbling. In addition, he brings the practical links to the Premier League as a forward of Manchester United.
In short: Ronaldo, with his 91 overall rating, is still a card that can advance you in Ultimate Team. And: With 118,000 coins, he is now significantly cheaper than some special cards.
Lionel Messi
Price: approx. 92,500 coins
What makes Messi stand out: Lionel Messi performs tricks with his feet that others can’t achieve even with two hands. The Argentine has shooting, passing, and dribbling stats that still hold up easily against the special card competition.
His pace can be boosted with a Hunter style, making Messi still a damn strong card at this point. Especially when you pull him from the wing into the central attacking midfield, Messi remains a constant goal threat for your opponent.
Will Messi and Ronaldo still be this strong in the next game?
Neymar
Price: approx. 80,000 coins
What makes Neymar stand out: Even now, the Neymar gold card is still one of the best cards in the game when it comes to dribbling. Neymar plays differently than other players in that regard.
Additionally, he has the still deadly combination of 5 stars on his weak foot and skills. Thanks to these abilities and his stats, the Brazilian is one of the most dangerous and hardest to predict cards in the game.
N’golo Kanté
Price: approx. 54,000 coins
What makes Kanté stand out: If you see N’golo Kanté on the opposing team, you can expect to put in some extra effort when it comes to creating offensive chances.
The midfielder is the epitome of the proverbial vacuum cleaner, magically attracting opposing passes and taking down dribbling attackers. Just keep in mind he is not offensively oriented.
Mbappé
Price: approx. 515,000
What makes Mbappé stand out: Mbappé’s gold card still has a lot to offer, as evidenced by the fact that the Frenchman still costs more than 500,000 coins despite the heavy competition. But that’s no surprise.
Mbappé remains super fast, skillful, and clinically finishing. The 91-rated card is still among the best one can field in Ultimate Team – special cards notwithstanding.
Speaking of top cards: One of the best players was just removed from FIFA 22.
