The current Weekend League Rewards in FIFA 21 have an error. Instead of the red FUT Champions rewards, players are receiving completely ordinary cards. However, EA promises a solution now.
Update, January 29, 09:00 AM: The first corrected Player Picks have now arrived for players who had already claimed their rewards. Players for whom the solution is already active receive the following message and the corrected rewards:
Update, January 28, 01:50 PM: So far, players who redeemed their faulty picks already (before 10:18 AM) have not received any corrected rewards. There is still no information on when the correction will take place.
Update, January 28, 10:50 AM: EA announced via Twitter that the problem has been resolved. They state that all players who open their rewards after 10:18 AM should now receive the correct cards.
However, FUT players who redeemed their rewards before 10:18 AM and received the wrong cards are to receive the correct rewards from EA retrospectively.
This is the error: Usually, the Weekend League Rewards contain, depending on the completion of the last weekend, a certain amount of red special cards: The Player Picks, from which players can choose. These consist of cards from the current TOTW and thus provide a very good chance of strong special cards.
However, the current rewards are faulty. Instead of the red “FUT Champions” cards, players are currently (January 28, 2021) faced with completely normal gold cards. The Player Picks are currently not giving any TOTW cards.
Such errors have occurred in the past. Typically, affected players would receive a new set of Player Picks at a later date, from which they could choose. This also worked if players had already selected their Player Picks with the wrong cards.
There should actually be a strong TOTW in FUT Champions rewards
This is what the Weekend League Rewards should yield: The error happens just in a week when the TOTW is strong. Several players from the current Team of the Week 18 have really good stats.
Leading the current TOTW is Neymar, who with a 92-rated card and fantastic offensive stats would be the dream pick for most players. But also cards like
- Benzema (92) as a strong striker card
- Bernardo Silva (88) in attack
- or De Jong (86) as central midfielder
should be decent for most players as Player Picks.
