What’s included in the update: The new Title Update offers some changes, but mainly focuses on correcting gameplay and display errors. There are no comprehensive changes like in the last Title Update 4.
The key changes in Title Update 5 – Patch Notes
The patch notes: Title Update 5 includes changes for all areas and modes. Both gameplay and visual elements are being revised. In the following list, we summarize the most important changes.
You can find the official patch notes from EA Sports here (via FIFA Forums).
Gameplay – Changes
Various adjustments have been made to gameplay:
- The distance the ball can travel after making contact with a defender’s foot or leg during a block animation has been increased.
- The time during which “Team Pressing” (D-Pad tactic) can be active before a cooldown is required has been reduced from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.
- The D-Pad tactic “Overload on Ball Side” consumes more stamina.
- The tactics “Press After Errors,” “Press After Ball Loss,” and “Constant Pressure” are intended to be more effective.
Furthermore, the following errors were corrected:
- Players sometimes took too long to shoot.
- A collision between the keeper and a defender sometimes resulted in the goalkeeper being shoved into the goal, resulting in an own goal – this situation is now counted as a foul.
- If a yellow-card worthy foul was played on advantage, the player could commit another yellow-card worthy foul and receive a direct red card for it.
- The goalkeeper could leap too early and then execute another jump.
- Sometimes skill moves could not be executed immediately after a player turned.
Ultimate Team – Changes
What’s new in Ultimate Team:
- Club hymns and fan chants can now be listened to in the bidding window.
These errors have been fixed in Ultimate Team:
- The matchmaking for placement matches in Division Rivals is supposed to improve.
- Some balls had no shadows in the game.
- The incorrect names of some goal celebrations have been adjusted.
- The player bio of Icon-Riquelme is now correct.
Career Mode – Changes
What has been corrected in Career Mode:
- In negotiation scenes, two incorrect and identical manager character models were used.
Otherwise, mainly display errors that presented incorrect texts and information have been fixed.
Pro Clubs – Changes
What’s new in Pro Clubs:
- Group, team, and camera celebrations can now be performed.
- The camera now zooms in on the goalscorer during goal celebrations.
These errors have been fixed:
- Your own tactics are now saved correctly.
Further changes in Title Update 5
What else has changed? The list of changes and fixes is long and includes many smaller visual improvements and bugs that occurred rarely.
However, a major new addition is the 25 new game faces that EA has announced. Which ones they are is not yet known. Perhaps finally an updated Ancelotti?
In addition, EA has revised the ping display. The ping is now shown before a match:
- 0 to 30 milliseconds show 5 green bars.
- 31 to 59 milliseconds show 4 green bars.
- 60 to 99 milliseconds show 3 orange bars.
- 100 to 124 milliseconds show 2 orange bars.
- 125 or more milliseconds show 1 red bar.
Thus, FIFA 21 has already received its fifth update. We are curious to see if the 4-2-3-1 formation will remain so strong even after the update.
