In FIFA 21 there are some extremely popular players frequently seen in Ultimate Team (FUT). Which players are they – and what makes them special?
What kind of list is this? The “futbin” website collects data on “Player Game Performance”, or “PGP”, in FIFA 21. Various statistics are compiled here, from the number of games played by individual cards in FUT to the goal rate per match.
This database is fed by data from cards on the transfer market. Untradeable cards, such as objectives or SBC players, are not included here. There is also less data available for rare cards that are rarely sold on the transfer market.
However, the numbers still provide a good benchmark for which players have been played the most since the release in Ultimate Team. We will present you with the top 10 players as of October 26, 2020, in more detail. Which players currently dominate the lineups in Ultimate Team?
1. Marcus Rashford
As of now, the Englishman has already reached the enormous number of 1,065,838 games. With the broken million, he is currently the most played player in FIFA 21. His goal rate is an average of 1.09 goals per game.
Those who want to buy Rashford’s gold card currently need to pay around 230,000 coins. He is therefore not exactly cheap. However, Rashford impresses with great speed, a very good finishing and 5-star skills. He also brings a weak foot with four stars and the flair trait. He is particularly often equipped with the finisher chemistry style, making him an incredibly good dribbler, and also raises his shooting attributes above 90.
He is normally positioned as a left midfielder, but is overall a damn dangerous attacker. His TOTW card from the Team of the Week 4 is even stronger, but currently costs over 500,000 coins.
2. Timo Werner
Werner follows Rashford with a high value of 949,882 played games in second place for most appearances. Werner currently scores an average of 1.75 goals, which is almost a brace per game.
However, Werner also costs quite a bit of coins: At 235,000, he is not easy to finance. If you have him in your team, you can expect a very fast striker with good finishing. His weak foot is rated at 4 stars. He is also often equipped with the finisher style, which allows him to achieve strong dribbling and shooting attributes above 90.

3. Heung Min Son
Son has nearly 100,000 matches fewer than Werner, currently standing at 854,422 games. His goal rate is also impressive with 1.29 goals.
The Tottenham player currently costs 187,000 coins on the transfer market. He also brings the important combination of good speed, strong dribbling, and shooting to the pitch. Furthermore, he has passing attributes in the 80s range, which also makes him a good playmaker.
On futbin, the hunter style is particularly popular for him. No wonder: he achieves a pace value of 89 with 99 sprint speed and lethal finishing attributes. He has 5 stars on his weak foot and 4 on skills.
4. Anthony Martial
The Manchester United striker currently stands at 829,336 games with a goal value of 1.27. Therefore, he is very dangerous in front of goal – which again is likely due to the speed-dribbling-shooting combination.
Martial currently costs 135,000 coins and has four stars on his weak foot, along with interesting abilities such as flair, outside foot shot, and finesse shots. A popular chem style for him is “Hawk”, which boosts pace, shooting attributes, and physicality. However, hunter is also often used for him, which promotes more speed and better shots.
5. Joe Gomez
Joe Gomez is the first defender on this list and currently stands at 807,233 games since release. He currently costs around 100,000 coins.
An important point about Gomez is the high speed for a center-back, as he can compete with the opponent’s speedy attackers. In addition, he has very high defensive and physical attributes. With the anchor chem style, all three of these central attributes can be further boosted.
6. Ousmane Dembelé
Ousmane Dembelé has currently collected 786,322 games and has also been a favorite of players in previous FIFA editions. Why?
Dembelé’s greatest strengths lie in his speed and dribbling. He stands out in that he is a 5-star skiller and also has 5 stars on his weak foot.
He is therefore skilled at dribbling and two-footed. Also, as a Frenchman in La Liga, he provides good link opportunities. His price currently stands at 52,000 coins. With the deadeye chem style, his shooting and passing attributes can also be brought into the good 80 range, making him even more versatile.
7. Lucas
Lucas has currently played 775,842 games since release and costs around 51,000 coins.
He also brings a lot of speed – how could it be otherwise? He is also very strong in dribbling. With the deadeye style, he also achieves passing and shooting attributes in the 80s range. Overall, he is a fast, strong finisher. And as a Brazilian in the Premier League, he is also a good link for hybrid teams. He has 4 stars on skills and his weak foot.
8. Rodrigo
The Spanish striker Rodrigo has 759,959 matches since release and has a total rating of only 82 – but one should not be deceived by that.
The Leeds striker is incredibly fast with a speed attribute of 91. Additionally, he has good offensive attributes, especially when using chem styles such as “finisher”. He also has 4-star skills and is now just 11,000 coins, after previously costing 40,000 coins two weeks ago. He is now a good option to upgrade a Premier League starter team.
9. Ferland Mendy
While many players have crashed on the transfer market in recent weeks, Ferland Mendy has kept his price stable at over 100,000 coins and even rose to around 125,000. Currently, the left back stands at 755,228 matches.
Mendy is extremely fast, bringing 4-star skills and 5 stars on his weak foot. His pace attribute of over 90 ensures that he can keep up with the fastest attackers to defend against them. With the anchor style, his speed is further boosted along with the important defensive and physical attributes. Additionally, he provides good links for potential hybrid teams.
10. Nelson Semedo
Semedo has also been a popular player for a long time, but he switched from the Spanish league to the English league last summer. This did not change his popularity: Currently, he stands at 739,467 matches.
Semedo also has the high speed attribute as an important plus, as full-backs this year must face very fast offensive players. With the sentinel or anchor style, defensive and physical attributes can be further enhanced. Semedo currently costs around 30,000 coins.
These players follow in the next positions:
- Allan
- Paul Pogba
- Leroy Sané
- Gareth Bale
- Kai Havertz
- Aubameyang
- Alphonso Davies
- Federico Valverde
If you want to get some of these players, you should try to spend as few coins as possible. This can be done either through bid prices or targeted sniping. How that works is explained in our sniping guide for FIFA 21.
