You are considering starting the Weekend League in FIFA 21 this week? It could be worth it! Two points make this weekend more interesting than usual.
When does the Weekend League qualification end? If you haven’t registered for the current Weekend League yet, you can still do so until Saturday, 8:00 AM.
To register, you need a total of 2,000 FUT Champs points. If you don’t have them yet, you’ll need to grind in Division Rivals – there, you earn a certain amount of points for each game, depending on your division.
However, this weekend might just be worth the effort. This is due to the following two points.
Weekend League Plus
This is Weekend League Plus: In Ultimate Team, you can currently find the special task “Weekend League Plus”. This involves 3 sub-tasks, each rewarding you with an extra special card.
- Win 10 games in the Weekend League to receive a player pick with 1 of 3 FUT Champions players from TOTW 16.
- Win 16 games in the Weekend League to receive a player pick with 1 of 4 FUT Champions players from TOTW 16.
- Win 22 games in the Weekend League to receive a player pick with 1 of 5 FUT Champions players from TOTW 16.
You can secure up to three extra special cards from the current Team of the Week by playing the Weekend League. However, the objectives are not quite easy – especially the third part requires a pretty strong performance. Nevertheless: If you want to secure cards from the current TOTW 16, here’s an extra chance.
The current TOTW may not necessarily be one of the stronger ones from the past weeks, but there are still a few usable cards in it. And at least for SBC fodder, the task is definitely worth it – for example, for upgrade SBCs. Tips for more victories in FIFA 21’s Weekend League can be found here.
However, this task is not the only interesting thing.
The TOTY is approaching
This is what the TOTY is all about: Currently, the voting for Team of the Year is still ongoing and an official event start has not yet been announced. However, a start next week on Friday after the voting ends seems plausible – at the latest in two weeks.
The Team of the Year brings extremely strong cards in packs. And if you play the Weekend League now, you will receive a lot of packs from the FUT Champs and Division Rivals rewards this coming Thursday. If you save these for the TOTY, you’ll at least have a few more attempts to pull a TOTY player – even if the chances are low. However, the rewards will also earn you quite a bit of coins. Typically, player prices on the market drop noticeably around TOTY. Therefore, it might be worth it to top up your coin balance through Weekend League rewards and then buy reinforcements for your team on the transfer market for the event.
