Pierre Lees-Melou (What If)
Cost: approximately 98,000 coins
This is what makes Lees-Melou special: The Frenchman has probably the freshest card on this list, as he came with the What-If event into the game. He may seem inconspicuous at first, but his stats offer everything needed in central midfield. He also has a 4-star skill and weak foot combination. And, importantly: He might receive an upgrade.
Price development: You should be careful with Lees-Melou. He was about 120,000 coins after release, dropped briefly below 100,000 – but only barely. It’s possible that he might rise again – especially if his card receives an upgrade.
Riyad Mahrez (TOTW)
Cost: approximately 93,000 coins.
This is what makes Mahrez special: The Inform version of Riyad Mahrez has received a few small upgrades compared to the gold card that further enhance his strengths.
His best asset is the very high dribbling value combined with his 5-star skills. If you are looking for a strong dribbler in the Premier League, Mahrez is the right choice. And if you want to save money, the gold version can also help you – it is already available for about 25,000 coins.
Price development: Mahrez was previously available at a much lower price, but since January 2021, the price has been rising continuously. He has now dropped from around 100,000 coins back into the 90s. Could become cheaper again.
Nicolas Pépé (TOTW)
Cost: approximately 96,000 coins
This is what makes Pépé special: If you play a Premier League team but want speed on the wings? Then Pépé is a good choice. He primarily brings speed and good dribbling to the field. He has a few weaknesses in the physical area.
Price development: Pépé debuted with TOTW 23 and quickly achieved a price around 150,000 coins. However, this price has been continuously decreasing and recently fell below 100,000.
Joao Félix (TOTW)
Cost: approximately 92,000 coins
This is what makes Joao Félix special: The forward is one of the most popular players in FIFA 21. Especially his POTM card is often seen in the Weekend League. However, his 84 Inform card is also very dangerous. Félix has an excellent finishing ability and strong dribbling – including 5-star skills and 4 stars on his weak foot.
Price development: Félix’ Inform card was around 150,000 coins at release but then decreased. Since the end of December, it has fluctuated between 90,000 – 100,000 coins.
Raphael Varane
Cost: approximately 80,000 coins
This is what makes Varane special: Although there are many defenders with higher overall ratings, Varane is still regarded by many as one of the best center-backs in Ultimate Team – if not the best in terms of value for money. His speed, physicality, and defense are all spot on. Additionally, he has a unique body type that makes him hard to overcome.
Price development: At its peak, Varane was over 300,000 coins, but this has significantly decreased in recent weeks. Now, in March, we are in the 80,000 range, which should make Varane an option for more players.
