What are Squad Battles in FIFA 21? Squad Battles is a game mode within Ultimate Team. The special thing is: Instead of playing against real opponents, you play against AI-controlled teams. You can set the difficulty yourself. There are different types of teams that you can challenge.

The points from Squad Battles ultimately determine your rank. But how do you get the most out of the mode?
- Under the “Special” tab, you can find the featured team and the Team of the Week. Both earn you more points than the opponent selection teams.
- The higher the difficulty, the more points there are for a victory. But: If you lose, you only get a fraction of the points. So assess exactly which difficulty you can handle.
- Teams with low ratings and weak chemistry are significantly easier to beat than good teams with strong chemistry. Therefore, you can choose a higher difficulty against the former than against the latter.
- You can play a total of 40 matches per week that count towards the leaderboard. After that, you only receive coins, but no more Squad Battles points.

These innovations offer Squad Battles in FUT 21: Compared to FUT 20, some things have changed regarding the mode. What remained is that you have a competitive limit of 40 matches per week, but you can request new opponents as often as you like per day. New is:
- The ability to play in Co-op Squad Battles. Both players earn week points and coins for their leaderboard.
- You can also qualify for a Division in Division Rivals through Squad Battles in FIFA 21. This was not possible in FIFA 20, but it may not be worth it.
- This year, there is a Top 200 instead of a Top 100 in the leaderboard, providing better rewards.
