FIFA 21: Server Down – Just During the Big Rulebreakers Event

In FIFA 21, the servers are down, and the EA servers are experiencing an outage. The big Rulebreakers event should have just started.

FIFA servers are down: The Rulebreakers event started at 7:00 PM, but it seems the servers could not handle the influx. Since 7 PM, players have been receiving error messages that the game cannot connect to the EA servers.

There is also no access via the Web App and Companion App. A connection to the server cannot be established. The error message emphasizes that registration is unavailable and players should log in via console/PC to enjoy the “complete FUT gaming experience.” However, even on the console, players cannot access online services like Ultimate Team.

Update, 9:32 PM: A new message was posted on Twitter, this time again from EA Help. The source of the problem has been identified, and they are working on a solution.

Update, 8:22 PM: The servers are still unreachable. The Direct Communication channel has announced that matchmaking in all FIFA titles will now be disabled while the issue is further investigated.

EA servers down right before the event and Weekend League

Actually, the new Rulebreakers event should just be starting in FIFA 21. There are new special cards – it’s possible that this caused a large influx to the servers.

Also, the second Weekend League began today. The first round of FUT Champions was postponed last week and ran from Saturday to Tuesday morning.
