This week, the “Road to the Final” event starts in FIFA 21. What can you expect on the “Road to the Final” in FUT?
When does the event start? The “Road to the Final” (RTTF) kicks off this coming Friday. The Champions League event starts in the evening at 7 PM and replaces the currently running Rulebreakers event.
What kind of event is this? The Road to the Final is a well-known event from past FIFA editions. It revolves around the Champions League: Some players participating in this competition receive special cards with enhanced stats.
The twist with these cards is that they get better the further the player’s team progresses in the Champions League. An example from last year: The RTTF card of Kingsley Coman ended up with a rating of 95 after Bayern Munich won the Champions League.
The cards are especially popular among players because they have a connection to real football. Thus, one can cheer not only for the actual game but also because of the cards in the Champions League. After all, one can always hope for upgrades.
At the same time, they obviously carry the risk of becoming irrelevant very quickly – namely, if the player’s team gets eliminated. For example, one might buy an expensive Liverpool player hoping for many updates – and then the team suddenly gets knocked out. This happened last season when Liverpool had to bow out in the round of 16 against Atletico Madrid.
Which players are involved in the Road to the Final?
When is the team coming? The complete RTTF team will be announced this coming Friday at 7 PM, right on time for the event’s start. However, at least part of the event is already known.
Via Twitter, EA Sports announced that either Skriniar or Isco will receive an RTTF card in the form of a squad-building challenge reward. The decisive factor was the match between Real Madrid and Inter Milan on Tuesday evening – the winning team gets the card.
Since Real Madrid won 3:2 in the end, Isco is likely to be the SBC player on Friday.
