FIFA 21 has introduced 2 brand new German stadiums. MeinMMO shows you the football temples and provides an overview of which Bundesliga arenas might still be on the roster this season and why the large Bayern stadium might be missing again.
Which stadiums have been newly announced? Some official Bundesliga accounts announced the good news on Twitter: There will be 2 completely new German stadiums in FIFA 21:
On one hand, 1. FC Union Berlin receives a replica of the “Alte Försterei” in its second season in the German top flight, and the relegated SC Paderborn 07 brings its “Benteler-Arena” into the game. Both will be available at the launch of FIFA 21.
One old and one new stadium are coming to the game
What kind of stadiums are these? Both venues are pure football stadiums and come without a track. Fans stand almost at the edge of the pitch to cheer on their team.
“Standing” is especially a keyword for the capital club Union. Of the more than 20,000 seats, there are not even 4,000 seating places and last year, the Berliners were only allowed to hold their first league matches at the Alte Försterei thanks to an exception permit. The stadium is an absolute traditional building from the 1920s and stands out with its brick facade at the main stand.
In contrast, Paderborn shines almost with a new building – the “Benteler-Arena” only opened in 2008. The modern stadium currently offers space for exactly 15,000 spectators, with 9,200 standing and 5,800 seating. However, in the ongoing 20/21 season, the offerings are expected to be expanded to 17,700 through new seating.
Bundesliga likely with many stadiums – but little is confirmed
Which German stadiums could there be? Before the introduction of the two new stadiums, only one venue was considered certain – the Signal Iduna Park of Borussia Dortmund. This can be seen in the trailer for FIFA 21. Otherwise, one can currently only look at which stadiums were already in the last FIFA game:

Although FIFA 21 wants to bring more atmosphere to the stadiums again, the digital raw structure away from the fans probably makes it easier for the FIFA creators to return the stadiums polished this year. There are thus good chances that many of the listed arenas will be included in the new FIFA – although German stadiums are not in high demand internationally.
No license of the Bayern stadium in sight
What about the Allianz Arena? Last year, the Bayern stadium was already missing, and so far, it is still completely unclear whether you can expect the Munich venue this year. FC Bayern Munich had a long-standing contract with FIFA (FIFA 17 – 19), but since then the German record champions have been moving more towards their competitor Pro Evolution Soccer (PES).
Although there is currently no information on how closely FC Bayern is collaborating with PES developer Konami this season, the young right-back Alphonso Davies will be featured on the cover, so one can at least assume a loose partnership. However, it might be close enough to leave the Allianz Arena out of FIFA 21 again. In addition to the poor ratings, it will probably be a tough FIFA year for Bayern fans.
However, at least the stadium issue may not weigh as heavily for FUT players. Because with FIFA 21 you can create your own stadium for the first time and play on it. The better you become, the more extensive your options become, and you might quickly forget in Ultimate Team that the license is missing again this year.
