The What-If Event in FIFA 21 brought a strong card for Mattéo Guendouzi. You can obtain him through the Guendouzi challenges without coins – but not for too long.
This is “What If” Guendouzi: The Frenchman is under contract with Hertha BSC and fits perfectly into Bundesliga teams. Additionally, he provides good linking opportunities to other leagues.
His new What-If card has received a substantial upgrade of a full 10 points compared to the gold version. The new variant is perfectly suited for the CDM position and has particularly strong values in defense, physicality, passing, and dribbling.
Thus, he is suitable as a destroyer but also as a ball distributor for the offense. If equipped with a Shadow chemistry style, he is the ideal CDM.
This is how long the card is available: You need to hurry with Guendouzi. The challenges are only available until March 11.
What-If Upgrade possible: The What-If cards receive an upgrade of 2 additional overall points if your club achieves certain goals. In Guendouzi’s case, Hertha BSC must score 6 goals in a total of 5 matches.
- In the first match, Hertha already scored 2 goals, so 4 are still missing.
- The upcoming matches are against Dortmund, Leverkusen, Union Berlin, and Gladbach.
The Hertha matches have not been very high-scoring lately, but there was a 2:1 victory against Augsburg. In the table, the Berlin team is in 14th place. The upcoming schedule is not the easiest – theoretically, however, just one goal per game is enough to secure Guendouzi the upgrade.
Sometimes it can happen quickly. What-If-Fer received an upgrade after his team won 6:0.
But even without further upgrades, Guendouzi is worth it. The midfielder can be obtained without the use of coins.
How to complete the Guendouzi challenges in FIFA 21 for the What-If card
This is what you need to do: In total, there are 5 challenges to complete for Guendouzi. All of them take place in the friendly match mode “What If – Classic”.
- Score in 2 separate matches in the Live FUT Friendly “What If – Classic” with Bundesliga players.
- Score in 3 separate matches in the Live FUT Friendly “What If – Classic” with midfielders.
- Assist in the Live FUT Friendly “What If – Classic” for 5 goals with French players.
- Win 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly “What If – Classic”.
- Score in 10 separate matches in the Live FUT Friendly “What If – Classic” with Bundesliga players.
Tips for the Guendouzi challenges: The “What If – Classic” mode has two access restrictions. You need 11 clubs in the starting eleven, as well as at least 3 leagues.
Looking at the challenges, it’s advisable to bring the combination of “Bundesliga” and “France” onto the pitch as often as possible – especially in the offense.
Examples of French players in the Bundesliga:
- Moussa Diaby (LM) – Leverkusen
- Kingsley Coman (LM) – Bayern
- Lucas Hernandez (CB) – Bayern
- Alassane Plea (ST) – Gladbach
- Dayot Upamecano (CB) – Leipzig
- Nordi Mukiele (RB) – Leipzig
- Christopher Nkunku (ST) – Leipzig
- Baptiste Santamaria (CDM) – Freiburg
- Jean-Philippe Mateta (ST) – Mainz
- Mattéo Guendouzi (CDM) – Hertha BSC
Remember that you can only use one player from each club. Otherwise, fill your team with additional Bundesliga players for the challenges and chemistry. However, make sure to incorporate at least two other leagues.
Use loan players: In the friendly match mode, you can use loan players without losing contracts. So if you have top players like Mbappé or Icons in the loan version, bring them into play here.
Moreover, it pays off to play offensively. Often, players in friendly matches give up early, as this has no effect on any ranks or rewards in Live Friendlies.
